'Animae', photography, 2017-2021

.

The photographic series Animae maps the unknown and uncanny world of animals, glancing at the cohesive essence of man and animal, as it lies in its latin etymology.

With the camera constantly oriented upon them, and the limits of their shape left out of frame, an abstract universe is revealed, implying that the dipole man-animal is invented, not real.

In the common field that emerges, man and animal meet, interact, and eventually merge. Man as the observer; animal as the observed. There, recognition takes place that assumes a breakthrough from narrow borders, classifications and mutually exclusive identities.
